When I put a Drum & Bass mix together, I’m not just chucking tunes in a playlist and hoping for the best. I like starting mellow, letting it breathe, and then steadily crank the energy as I go. That’s the whole vibe: a proper journey, not just a collection of tracks.
And the transitions? They’ve gotta be silky. I want every blend to feel like Makoto, Hugh Hardie, Nu:Tone, Technimatic, Keeno and the rest all sat down together and said, “Yeah, let’s make these tracks melt into each other like bun and cheese.” When I nail those two pillars – flow and energy progression – that’s when it get the “Slick Beat Session” moniker. That label isn’t thrown around lightly.
This one features some of my favourite producers in the scene, and a wedge of time went into stitching it all together.
